GRP Roofing Systems – strong, lightweight, long lasting

What?

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) is a high performance, proven technology found on everything from boats and water tanks to ponds and pools, keeping water in as well as out. Made in the UK, it’s an environmentally safe composite and a great modern alternative to bitumen, felt and lead – perfect for creating flat roofs that are extremely strong, completely waterproof and long lasting.

How?

GRP is quick and easy to apply cold with either a roller or brush, and cures to a hard, very attractive, non-slip, seamless finish. You’ll need a couple of tools you might not otherwise have, all available from SIG Roofing; a dosimeter to add catalyst, and special rollers to apply the resin and topcoat. You also need to make sure the area is dry and the temperature is 7.5°C or above, however with Cool Cure resin and winter catalyst you can install at temperatures down to 0°C.

Where?

GRP will form to any shape but can only be applied to dry OSB3 board. It is important make sure that your OSB Board is clean and dry before installation to GRP.

It’s ideal for:

  • New builds or repairs
  • Walkways
  • Roof lights
  • Balconies
  • Stairways
  • Green roofs
  • Areas with foot traffic

Why?

GRP is extremely strong, lasts a lifetime and looks great. Made in the UK to British / ISO quality and environmental standards, it protects against the sun and weather, needs next to no maintenance and comes with a wide choice ocolour finishes and trims.
