Russell Roof Tiles

Russell Roof Tiles are a manufacturer of concrete roof tiles and fittings. The concrete tile range consists of three ranges:

The Natural Range is a thin leading edge concrete tiles to look like traditional roofing products.

  • Galloway – gives the appearance of slate or stone when laid broken half bonded. It is available in a variety of colours and offers the commercial benefits that come with a concrete tile.
  • Lothian – has a dummy joint down the middle of the face of the tile. This when laid at quarter bond gives the appearance of small slate/stone or clay tiles, but also gives the commercial benefits of a large format concrete tile.
  • Bute – has a dummy joint down the middle of the face of the tile. This when laid quarter broken bonded and at a headlap of either 145mm or 165mm gives the appearance of smaller natural slate/stone or clay tiles, but also gives the commercial benefits of a concrete tile.
  • Moray – has a riven finish on the face of the tile. This when laid half broken bonded gives the appearance of slate or stone tiles, but also gives the commercial benefits of a concrete tile.
  • Polden – is a thin leading edge flat tile with a riven finish on the face of the tile it also has a dummy joint down the middle of the tile. This when laid quarter bonded gives the appearance of smaller natural slate or stone tiles, but also gives the commercial benefits of a concrete tile.

The Commercial Range offers traditional Interlocking tiles in a variety of profiles to provide cost effective solutions:

  • Pennine – is a traditional double pantile with a subtle soft roll design it is used across all areas of the country. It gives the appearance of clay pantile and double pantile with the economy of concrete.
  • Double Roman – is a traditional profiled concrete tile with a small round roll. This classic design lends itself to traditional and contemporary roof styles.
  • Grampian – is a standard interlocking roof tile laid half broken bonded. It combines traditional appearance of slate, clay and stone with the added security of an interlocking design and the economy of concrete.
  • Highland– is a traditional flat roof tile with a mock joint which gives the appearance of small slates or tiles when laid broken bonded.

The Regency Range offers traditional concrete plain tiles including Blends and Heritage Tiles for bespoke roofs:

  • Plain Tile – has the appearance of a traditional clay tile but has the strength and economy of a concrete tile. It is ideal for historical restorations and projects where subtle aesthetic appearance and cost efficiency are a priority
  • Plain Tile Blends – are a mixture of 2 or 3 colours on the same roof which the roof tiler mixes as he lays the roof.  This provides a mottled random effect to give the appearance of clay plain tiles, but with the benefit and economy of concrete.

SIGA Heritage Reproduction Stone

SIGA Heritage offers a quality range of hand crafted, reproduction slates which are perfect for conservation projects. The Heritage range is hand crafted using moulds taken from stone slate originals to give an authentic roofscape, offering detailed moulding, a choice of colours and a range of sizes. SR Timber Premium Gold Batten (Optional for Scotland)

SR Timber is a leading supplier of specialist timber construction materials in the UK. DuPont Tyvek® Supro & Supro Plus

Tyvek® Supro is a durable, water resistant membrane that is reinforced with a laminated polypropylene nonwoven. This airtight, vapour-permeable membrane is extremely water-resistant, and can be used for all supported and unsupported pitched roofs.

Tyvek® Supro does not need any soffit, tile or ridge ventilation, which can save time and money in the construction process. In addition to warm, hybrid and cold roofs, applications include Scottish sarking board systems, low-pitched metal roofs.

Tyvek® Supro Plus offers the same benefits, plus an integral adhesive lap tape designed for use in the Tyvek® sealed roof system. Sealing all horizontal laps contributes to the system’s thermal efficiency by reducing air infiltration.

TIL-R Pitched Roof Underlay or TIL-R Classic Undertile Felt

TIL-R Pitched Roof Underlays are high performance, breathable membranes for use in both vented and non-vented cold and warm pitched roofs. They allow the roof to breathe, negating the requirement for traditional ventilation. TIL-R Underlay is especially suitable for use in supported warm roof specifications where the insulation is located along the rafter line, and is available as standard or with dual integrated tape.

Non-breathable pitched roof underlays are suitable for use as an unsupported underlay in traditionally ventilated cold tiles or slated pitched roofs. Available as standard, or with dual integrated tape, TIL-R Classic Non Breathable Pitched Roof Underlays are clean to use, quick to install and come with a printed cutting grid for your convenience.

TIL-R Classic Undertile Felt is a traditional bitumen based slaters felt. It can also be used as a vapour retarder in built-up roofing. TIL-R Classic Undertile Felt is eligible for ONE Warranty for Scottish sarking board projects, and where it is necessary to provide a safe roosting environment for bats.

Proctor Roofshield

 Roofshield, launched in 1996, is a vapour- and air-permeable underlay (VPU) for pitched roof applications.  It is a unique, three – layer, nonwoven, spunbonded, polypropylene breather membrane with a patented melt – blown core. It is intended for use as a pitched roof underlay (breathable roofing felt) and is fixed beneath tiles and slates.

Roofshield provides a secondary barrier to the ingress of rain, wind and snow. It has a low vapour resistance and is air – permeable; additionally, it eliminates the incidence of interstitial condensation in pitched roofs.  Fully certified for use in non-ventilated warm or cold roof applications.
