That’s why the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) is such an integral part of roofing. They direct a significant amount of their resources to improving standards through training and skills competitions, and believe in training the workforce so the integrity of roofing is maintained.
In addition to access to free training courses provided to its members by the NFRC, as a member you can gain access to various training providers, including the National Construction Colleges (NCC), that are affiliated to NFRC. All have close relationships with the NFRC in regard to training and skills competitions. Here’s how they can help you keep on top of your game.
SKILLBUILD
Skillbuild is the largest UK multi-trade competition for construction trainees and apprentices. The NFRC run the roofing competition with disciplines including reinforced bituminous membranes,

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY TRAINING BOARD (CITB)

INSTITUTE OF ROOFING (IOR)

REGIONAL ROOF TRAINING GROUPS (RTGS)
There are eight Regional Roof Training Groups located throughout the country, providing a range of courses including NVQs in roofing and CSCS certification. Members of each group can pool their training requirements enabling them to access courses specifically designed for them at a competitive cost and delivered locally whenever demand allows.
