The team at SIG Roofing Weybridge were excited to be involved in the supply of materials for the recently completed Band of Builders ‘Paul’s’ Project. Using products from our own-brand range FIX-R (EPDM), along with key products from suppliers like Floplast and Recticel, helps us support projects with quality materials. Having stock available through our UK branch network means we can get the right products to site quickly and efficiently – exactly when they’re needed.
Band of Builders is a National Construction Charity, which provides practical, financial and wellbeing support to the industry. They pulled together a team of volunteer tradesmen to transform Paul’s home with an extension project completed in just 20 days.
Background
In October 2021 Paul Kitteman, who works for Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS), had a painful back problem that was diagnosed as a spinal abscess. It has left Paul paralysed from the waist down. He has made remarkable progress and has been able to return to an administrative role in the JPS business. However, he was sleeping in the dining room of his family’s modest three-bedroom house in Surrey and with no facilities, he desperately needed a new ground-floor bedroom with a wet room and toilet.
The Plan
To build a single-floor extension on land to the side of Paul and Sasha’s house to facilitate a bedroom and a wet room facility. More details at https://bandofbuilders.org/pages/pauls-project
